Do you need to take an Iron supplement?

We’re missing the mark on iron

If you have been iron deficient on labs before or told you have anemia, this post is for you!

Have you been told to take iron supplements or even iron infusions?

Did you know… iron is NOT hard to get in our diet?

Low iron is almost NEVER an issue with not eating enough iron.

Our bodies actually RECYCLE iron. Yup, your body makes 24mg of iron a day on its own.

We need 25mg. So yes, you only need to consume 1mg of iron a day.

There is 3 mg in one serving of beef.

Most multivitamins have 9+mg of iron.

Getting enough iron isn’t the issue.

HERE’S THE ISSUE

- Low vitamin A levels
- Low bioavailable copper levels
- Stressed adrenal glands

Without these, the iron recycling system doesn’t work and iron builds up in your tissues, causing oxidative stress aka rust in the body. Bogging down your liver and messing with things like digestion and detoxification.

This is why assessing iron deficiency is so much more than a ferritin level and an iron pill.

You have to assess the entire system!
